Motorcycle Injury News and Info

Harley-Davidson is recalling about 308,000 motorcycles to fix a switch problem that can cause failure of the brake lights and possibly even the rear brakes themselves.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a massive recall of Dorel Juvenile Group car seats. Nearly 800,000 models made between May 2008 and April 2009 is part of the recall.
Bridgestone Motorcycle Tire Defect

Bridgestone Americas Tire Operation (BATO) is recalling certain batches of Bridgestone Exedra G850 G defective motorcycle tires sold for MY 2008 and 2009 Triumph Rocket III Touring motorcycles, according to a report in Consumeraffairs.com. It has been found that torque from riding can cause “torque-induced degradation” in a body ply, which may result in inner-liner cracking and lead to a slow leak in the rear tire. When the defective tires are used continuously, they may start to vibrate at moderate speeds or even lead to a motorcycle crash.
Earlier this year, American Suzuki Motor Corporation announced that an extraordinary safety defect in 2005 and 2006 GSX-R1000 model sport bikes has been causing cracking and breakage in the front wheel/fork assembly and behind and below the steering neck of the motorcycle. Frame fractures are serious safety defects that destabilize and otherwise adversely affect the handling and maneuvering characteristics of motorcycles so as to make it nearly impossible for even the most experienced and talented riders to avoid a catastrophic crash.  Many of these fractures are near invisible to the naked eye and can cause the entire front steering assembly to completely separate from the body of the motorcycle.
