On April 24, The Colony resident Stephen Edwards was seriously injured in a traffic accident while riding his motorcycle southbound on Main Street. The accident highlights the importance of drivers being aware of motorcyclists, which are "roughly unprotected and much more likely to be injured or killed in a crash than other vehicle drivers," according to a city proclamation read by Mayor Joe McCourry at last week's city council meeting.

Good news for Texas leadfoots: The speed limit will soon rise from 70 to 75 mph on nearly 1,500 miles of highway. The new limit was approved Thursday by the Texas Transportation Commission after studies on the roads determined that the change would be safe.

WASHINGTON The law says motorcyclists in Delaware have to have a helmet. But the helmet does not need to be on anyone's head. A motorcyclist is obeying the law even if the helmet is strapped to the handlebars or stuffed in a saddlebag.
